M.E. DePalma -
with a bulls-eye snakehead0/1/11  M.E. DePalma caught a 28" Bullseye Snakehead on a #12 estaz maribou barbless dropper in a Plantation, Florida canal. "I fought him for 20 minutes with him making multiple jumps and smoking my reel."

Ron Whitely, who is generally acknowledged as the originator of this fly, says "I have added it to the species list for the fly which is pushing 80 now."
There was a  Feature Article by Stuart Patterson in Florida Flyfishing Magazine on Ron Whiteley's Estaz Marabou.  However, it is no longer available online .

On  "9/10  she caught a Tilapia in the Firemans pond in Melbourne on the same fly.

9/7 and 9/28 Here are a few recent pics from our fishing trips to the Vero area of the IRL. The flounder have been loving our shrimp fly along the mangrove edges. Have caught some small snook as well. One trip we caught 7.

That is exciting to experience since the devistating freeze! There is a pic of a mullet (yes, a mullet on fly?!) and a nice over-size red caught and released 9/28. The flounder pic is from the the previous week. We caught 3 that day on Paul's shrimp fly and one on a shmino fly...........Sherry <*(((><

9/28 Launched at 8:30 at Placida.  Wind NW @ 10, Temp 77 going to 89. Low tide.  Headed up to the north end of Placida Harbor. Mullet were thick........ Managed a small red, couple of trout, ladyfish and pinfish on the 6 wt. -Tried Bull Bay next, 2 trout, 1 pinfish........ Next was Charlotte harbor at Gallager Keys, 1 snook about 24 inches, 1 trout.......Slow day so far, tide was coming in good by 10:00 a.m.... Headed out Boca Grande Pass and found acres of ladyfish and small mackerel just outside the pass. ...........Headed north along the Boca shore looking for little tunny and seeing lots of small mackerel.  Got up to about a mile south of Gasparilla Pass and spotted hundreds of birds working near the beach. Found loads of ladyfish working a huge school of anchovies. When I  got closer I spotted many tarpon in the mix.........Got a fish check call from Capt. Al White. He was about a mile west of me, told him to get over here with his video camera......Landed one tarpon about 50 lbs, loads of ladyfish and one gull. Had lots of shots at tarpon to about 120 lbs that were rolling up in the anchovie ball.  Al hooked and lost one tarpon. Ran out a few miles, but didn't spot and little tunny to top off the Bay-----><>  Ron Whiteley
