The closest spot to launch is Lemon Bluff boat ramp. It’s about 100 yards from the turn on to Indian Hammock Dr. A map from the camp site to the ramp will be provided when you arrive. Boats should be put back on the trailer at night and parked next to your camp site.
Note: Please be respectful of the property when pulling your trailer.
Canoes and Kayaks can be used to fish for shad. Paddlers should be experienced and use caution because many areas
of the St. Johns have high speed boat traffic.

Camping – We are camping on private property that belongs to a friend of the BFA Orlando club.
It is a large open field on the St. Johns. Camp sites are on a first come first serve basis. You will be assigned a spot
when you arrive. All Campers are responsible for tents, sleeping bags, lights, etc.
There are no hook ups available. Everyone must be prepared to be self sufficient. No generators please.
Remember to bring bug spray
Running water and a bathroom will be available nearby.
Small grills for cooking may be brought. There will be one community fire pit. Wood will be provided.
Trash cans will be available around the camping area. Please bring a few trash bags just in case.
Before leaving campers must return the property back to the way they found it when they arrived. Food – Everyoneis responsible for their own meals. You are welcome to make arrangement on your own to eat with other fly fisherman.

The board of directors would like to solicit everyone's suggestions for outings which would be more popular with club members.

Club outings can serve several functions besides just another fishing trip. Most important, they offer an opportunity to fish with someone different, perhaps a new club member, an interested kid, or someone without a boat. Another benefit is the forcing function to clean your boat and work off some of the maintenance that is so easily put off. The camaraderie, before and after
fishing, is also fun and helpful. Perhaps outings organized more as picnics, with fishing secondary or optional would be nice.

To focus your thinking, consider some of our regular outings, and how they might be expanded on or modified. Local events include:
* Beach fishing
* Camp-outs at Long Point
* Lake Washington
* Shad trips
In the past, we have made week-end trips further afield, such as:
* The Miami Canals
* The Keys
Similar week-end destinations that we haven't visited in recent memory include:
* The Spartina marshes near Jacksonville.
* Chokoloskee
* Lake Okeechobee and adjacent canals

If you have any ideas for future outings, please contact any of the club officer, such as Frank Catino 223-7700, Fcatino@cfl.rr.com
Mike Reynolds (508-8444,), or Brant Davenport (508-2877) (Outings chairmen)
Frank Perkins 676-0863, fap1217@cs.com

If you are planning to attend an outing, please notify Mike Reynolds or Brant Davenport
by phone or in person at the general meeting, so they will know how much food to purchase.

Once Again Bull Gunn led an intrepid group of 11 (Bill & Ronda , M.E. and Skip, Sherry & Paul, Alan, Ron, Sigmund, Barry and Kenny)on a trout fishing exhibition to Pennsylvannia.  This fun filled adventure is one of the most cost-effective trips in the fly fishing universe.

We fished twice a day - ate well and listened to fishing stories.  A side trip on a rainy day took us to the Pensylvannia Lumber Museum followed by a visit to Rainbow Paradise Trout Farm where we fished in the trophy pond.  Catches included Palomino, Rainbow and Tiger Trout.   The Tiger is a sterile hybrid between a Brook and a Brown trout and is know to be a fearsome fighter.

As a token of appreciation for Bill leading this trip - year after year, Alan Hendry presented Bill with a framed collection of antique Pennsylvania fishing license buttons.  Kenny, who has come back to the fold after a two year absence also recieved an award - see photo.

A Great Time was had by all.  Be certain to mark your calendar and join us next June!
